The U.N. Security Council on Tuesday and Wednesday held a marathon debate on the ongoing atrocities being committed in Israel by Gaza. 

More than 70 speakers, including Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, debated the ongoing attacks on Gaza by Israel, whose “clear and repeated rejection” of the two-State solution “is unacceptable,” said U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres, who opened the two-day debate.

He said “this refusal, and the denial of the right to statehood to the Palestinian people, would indefinitely prolong a conflict that has become a major threat to global peace and security.”

Most speakers called for called for an immediate ceasefire and supported the two-state solution. “Stop this massacre,” demanded the deputy prime minister of Jordan.

“We are running out of time. There are two choices: a spreading fire or a ceasefire,” warned the foreign affairs minister for the Observer State of Palestine. 

On the sidelines, Lavrov held the following press conference at U.N. headquarters:
