Bill Gates Claims Within The Next Decade, We Might Face A Disease That Could Kill 30 Million People Within A 6 Month Period

24-12-19 09:29:00,

As we move into the last month of 2019, the decade to come is really being talked about now more than ever. Many people are looking back on the past few years as a whole and really trying to come to terms with all that has happened.

During this time it is important to note that the decade we’re leaving behind has come with some pretty interesting warnings for the one to come. For instance, Bill Gates back in 2018 warned people that they needed to work to prepare for a new form of the disease that could end up cutting our numbers back drastically sometime in the new decade. At a discussion about epidemics that was hosted by the Massachusetts Medical Society and the New England Journal of Medicine he really poured his heart out in regards.

You seem 2018 marked the 100 year anniversary of the Spanish flu pandemic according to Business Insider and that in itself was quite the outbreak around five hundred million people across the globe were infected and about fifty million lost their lives as a result. We as the human race need to work to be prepared for the next pandemic because as we grow and adapt so do the diseases around us and it’s just a matter of time before another pandemic stems forth. When it comes to deaths, this kind of thing can slice our numbers down drastically and we all need to be aware of that. We right now are not prepared for any kind of pandemic and would be caught off guard like flies on a trap.

While the World Health Organization is working to raise awareness for things like this not many others are. We as a whole need to be able to outline the means we will take in order to prevent widespread death and health issues overall. Just because disease X is not here yet does not mean we should not be prepared for it regardless of the form it ends up taking.

According to Business Insider Gates noted as follows in regards to all of this:

“I had hoped that hitting the 100th anniversary of this epidemic would spark a lot of discussion about whether we’re ready for the next global epidemic.”

France kills 7 in first armed drone strike as anti-jihadist mission in Mali drags on

23-12-19 05:41:00,

France’s ministry of defense said it has carried out its first armed drone strike, killing seven suspected militants in Mali, in what is an increasingly problematic mission for the European state.

Jihadist militants aligned with Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) and Al-Qaeda, among other groups, have been carrying out a series of major attacks and kidnappings in the Sahel region for years. The fighters have also used the area as a staging ground to prepare for attacks elsewhere, including Europe.

Dozens of soldiers killed in attack on military base in Niger – officials

According to a statement from the French defense ministry on Monday, the drone strike was launched on Saturday; French commandos came under attack from a group of terrorists on motorbikes, and the Reaper drone was sent in to support them. Confirmation of the drone strike comes just days after the ministry confirmed its testing of armed drones at the Niamey air base in Niger.

President Emmanuel Macron was visiting neighboring Ivory Coast at the time of the strike. In Abidjan on December 21, he announced French troops had that day killed 33 terrorists and taken one prisoner in central Mali, while also freeing two Malian police officers who were held hostage.

France began deploying troops in the Sahel region back in 2013 and, out of a 4,500-strong force, 41 French soldiers have died. Last month, 13 were killed in a single incident when two helicopters collided during a combat mission. It was the single greatest loss of French military lives in over 35 years.

Apple, Google, Dell, Microsoft and Tesla Named in Child Cobalt Mining Deaths and Injuries Lawsuit – Activist Post

23-12-19 05:24:00,

By B.N. Frank

Cell phones, computers, and other digital, electronic, and wireless technology require ingredients often referred to as “conflict minerals” in order to operate (see 1, 2).  There are reasons why they are referred to that way – mining for them is dangerous, sometimes deadly, and frequently involves exploited children.

Thanks to Annie Kelly for investigating and The Guardian for publishing details about another tragic situation involving “conflict minerals”:

A landmark legal case has been launched against the world’s largest tech companies by Congolese families who say their children were killed or maimed while mining for cobalt used to power smartphones, laptops and electric cars, the Guardian can reveal.

Apple, Google, Dell, Microsoft and Tesla have been named as defendants in a lawsuit filed in Washington DC by human rights firm International Rights Advocates on behalf of 14 parents and children from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

The families and injured children are seeking damages for forced labour and further compensation for unjust enrichment, negligent supervision and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

It is the first time that any of the tech companies have faced such a legal challenge.

In the court documents, the Congolese families describe how their children were driven by extreme poverty to seek work in large mining sites, where they claim they were paid as little as $2 (£1.50) a day for backbreaking and dangerous work digging for cobalt rocks with primitive tools in dark, underground tunnels.

Israel and al-Qaeda Coordinate Drone Attacks against Syria

23-12-19 05:16:00,

Syrian air defense repel Israeli missiles – archive photo

Israel and al Qaeda have coordinated drone attacks against Syria. On 22 December, a Syrian Arab Army unit neutralized a Kamikaze drone (explosives-carrying drone) deployed by al-Qaeda terrorists in the Tal al Dara and al Hamra farm area in Hama governate.

On 22 December, SAA air defenses responded to missiles fired by Israel in the area of Damascus countryside. This coordinated attempt in the ongoing plot of a final solution against the Syrian Arab Republic is likely a perverse celebration of the Trump regime signing of the new ‘defense’ bill, which includes the criminal Caesar legislation.

Israel and al Qaeda have a long history of war crimes against Syria. In May 2013, Israel bombed a food supply center for the SAA, a Syrian Arab Army air defense unit, and an SAA weapons and munitions depot — while al Qaeda blasphemed and videoed the Kodak moment with expensive cameras.

In early 2017, Israeli media bragged about providing state of the art trauma care to injured members of al Qaeda, on the Syrian Golan occupied by Israel, and bringing others into Israeli hospitals, for extended free medical care.

In short, Israel has functioned as al Qaeda’s air force against Syria. The US did not become al Qaeda’s second air force until September 2016, when the Obama regime ‘accidentally’ bombed a Syrian military position at al Thardeh Mountain near Deir Ezzor airport, slaughtering 83 soldiers, rescuing al Qaeda terrorists.

AleppoAleppoMass funeral for 83 Syrian soldiers massacred by US war criminal bombings was unreported in western media

The Trump regime continued as ISIS’ second air force, beginning 7 April 2017, when he bombed Ash Sha’irat Airbase based on al Qaeda news on Khan Sheikhoun, much of which was provided by an illegal Brit whose medical license was permanently revoked in his homeland, via fake news! CNN.

In “Historic” Ruling, Dutch Supreme Court Says Government Must Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions By 25%

23-12-19 05:08:00,

In a move that has “put the rest of the world on notice,” the Dutch Supreme Court has upheld a landmark climate change ruling that requires the Dutch government to accelerate cuts of carbon emissions.

It was called an “immense victory for climate justice,” according to AP

The Supreme Court upheld lower court rulings that the severity of the climate change crisis demanded greenhouse gas reductions of at least 25% by 2020, according to the Guardian. This is higher than the 17% drop in emissions that was planned by Mark Rutte’s liberal administration.

The ruling was greeted with cheers in the courtroom an will act as a tailwind for similar cases worldwide. Similar cases are being planned in places like Norway, New Zealand, Uganda and the UK.

Marjan Minnesma of the Dutch Urgenda Foundation said: “I am extremely happy that the highest court in the Netherlands has confirmed that climate change is a real, severe problem and that government should do what they themselves have declared for more than 10 years is necessary, namely between 25% and 40% reduction of CO2.”

Jesse Klaver, the leader of the Dutch Greens, said of the original ruling that it was “historic news” and said  “Governments can no longer make promises they don’t fulfil. Countries have an obligation to protect their citizens against climate change. That makes this trial relevant for all other countries.”

To comply with the ruling, one new coal plan would have to be shut down. The state had argued that the judges were “sidelining democracy” by trying to force the policy change.

But Judge Tan de Sonnaville was unconvinced, ruling: “Climate change is a grave danger. Any postponement of emissions reductions exacerbates the risks of climate change. The Dutch government cannot hide behind other countries’ emissions. It has an independent duty to reduce emissions from its own territory.”

It has now been more than four years since a lower court first ruled on the emissions cut. The Dutch government then appealed the verdict, saying the courts shouldn’t be able to order the government to take action. The government lost the appeal in October 2018 and then appealed a second time.

A Criminal State Under investigation

22-12-19 08:56:00,

“If you have the law, hammer the law. If you have the facts, hammer the facts. If you have neither the law nor the facts, hammer the table”.

Anonymous legal advice

Reports from Israeli press outlets this weekend show that the Jewish State fears the ICC’s (International Criminal Court) decision to move forward with an investigation into whether Israel committed war crimes in the Palestinian territories. Such a probe may expose current and former government officials and military personnel to prosecution on the global stage.

The ICC will investigate Israel’s policy of settling its citizens in the West Bank, its actions during the 2014 war in Gaza, and its response to Palestinian protests on Gaza’s border beginning in March of last year. The ICC will examine indiscriminate shooting by Hamas and other Palestinian groups into Israeli cities as well.

Israel plans to refuse to cooperate with the ICC, although such a move may put a long list of Israeli officials, potentially including the prime minister, defense ministers, IDF chiefs, the heads of the Shin Bet security service, and military officers as well as low-ranking soldiers, at risk of international arrest warrants if, in the absence of a state response, the ICC proceeds with the prosecution of individuals for the alleged crimes.

Israel’s reaction to the ICC’s top prosecutor Fatou Bensouda’s decision to investigate is instructive. Instead of responding ethically and showing a willingness to defend its actions, Israel is hiding behind legalistic Talmudic arguments that seek to refute the ICC’s legitimacy and deny its jurisdiction over Israel and Israeli war criminals.

Israeli Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit’s defense is based on ICC’s supposed ‘lack of jurisdiction.’ On Saturday, Mandelblit said that Israel “is a democratic state of law, obligated and committed to respecting international law and humanitarian values. This commitment has stood strong for decades, through all the challenged and tough times Israel has faced. It is rooted in the character and values of the State of Israel and guaranteed by a strong and independent justice system…there is no place for international judicial intervention in such a situation.”

Is this really an accurate description of Israel? If Israel is ‘democratic state of law’ that adheres to a universalist value system as Mandelblit insists,

Erdogan says Turkey can’t handle Syrian migrant influx, warns Europe of new refugee wave

22-12-19 08:31:00,

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that his country is ill-equipped to handle a wave of Syrian migrants from Idlib, and warned that Europe will feel its impact next, unless the bombing of Idlib stops.

Speaking at an awards ceremony in Istanbul on Sunday, Erdogan said that Turkey “will not bear the burden alone” of the 80,000 migrants currently marching toward its borders from Idlib, in north-western Syria.

The Turkish leader added that Europe will see a repeat of the 2015 migrant crisis – which saw more than a million migrants enter Europe in less than a year – if its leaders do not intervene to stop violence in the region. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is currently attempting to recapture Idlib, with Russian support, from the remains of Islamic state.

Turkey ready to increase military support to internationally recognized government in Libya – Erdogan

Erdogan said he is doing everything possible to work with Moscow to stop the attacks on Idlib, and announced that a Turkish delegation will fly to the Russian capital on Monday for talks aimed at ending the violence.

Turkey is currently hosting more than 3.6 million Syrian refugees, and past negotiations with European leaders have seen Erdogan threatening to release them into the continent. Most recently, he promised to “open the gates” should European leaders label his military operation against Kurdish forces in northern Syria an ‘occupation’.

Erdogan’s operation against the Kurds is aimed at the creation of a ‘safe zone’ inside the Syrian border for the resettlement of some of the 3.6 million refugees currently in Turkey. Under pressure to relieve the refugee burden, he has pledged to press ahead with establishing the safe zone – with or without international support.

Operation Gladio: the Story Of A Conspiracy

21-12-19 09:30:00,

Authored by Gaither Stewart via,

Albert Camus in his essay “L’Exil d’Hélène” discusses contemporary disregard for the Greek value of limits. Camus writes that only the artist by his nature recognizes his limits, limits which the historic spirit disregards. The very idea of a super-secret organization like Gladio to remake the world in its own image reflects that same disregard for the Greek values that Camus so cherished.

When in the early 1970s an Italian right-wing journalist told me about a secret army training in Italy’s mountains, I scoffed at first thinking he was repeating a rumor picked up from some scoop-obsessed reporter. But my tune began changing when he gave it a name—“Stay Behind Army”—and explained it was a secret army to fight the Soviet armies which someday soon would invade West Europe. He gave me the name of a member of that secret army who would talk with me.

A few days later on a street corner near Rome’s Sapienza University I met a sleazy-looking Roman in his early twenties accompanied by a friend. Both of them kept looking around us, as if checking for tails. Their behavior was that of men on the run, yet men of destiny. They talked readily. And I, without realizing it, was being shown a speck of a new planet. Speaking softly in a crisp language with their Rome accents, they told me they had just finished a military training course in the nearby Abruzzi Mountains after having done basic training in Sardinia. Several times they used the term “Secret Army”, lowering their voices and glancing around each time they pronounced the words. And no, they answered, the organizers would not allow journalist visits, and that yes, the secret army was well equipped and ready.

Years later, in the late 1980s or early 90s, it happened by chance that I met in a Rome hotel bar an American who knew details about that secret army. I was sitting on a stool at the bar of the luxurious Grand Hotel waiting for an appointment with a well-known writer when the man sat down on the stool next to me. I recognized William Colby from pictures of him in the press announcing the presence in Rome for a conference of the former Director of the CIA.

There Are More Than 300 US Military Bases With Possible “Toxic Forever” Chemical Contamination

21-12-19 08:19:00,

Authored by Meghann Myers via,

Hundreds of military installations have either known or likely water contamination caused by runoff from firefighting foam used in response to vehicle and aircraft accidents, according to the Environmental Working Group.

Using Defense Department data, the organization built an interactive map of 305 sites, which are found in all 50 states. Each map dot opens up to information and links on perfluorooctane sulfonate or perfluorooctanoic acid, known as PFAS.

“Of these sites, 138 have not been previously identified on EWG’s map of known PFAS contamination at military bases, civilian airports and industrial sites,” according to a Tuesday new release.

“In addition, 42 of these sites were not included on a list of 401 locations the Pentagon gave to Congress of active and former installations where PFAS contamination was known or suspected.”

An interactive Environmental Working Group map lays out PFAS contamination across 305 military sites. (EWG)

The map went live the day after the House and Senate armed services committees finalized a compromise defense authorization bill for 2020, which includes provisions to approaching the PFAS issue going forward.

Expected to see a vote in the House on Wednesday, the law would prohibit the use of PFAS-laden firefighting foam after Oct. 1, 2024, and immediately ban any use of the foam outside of emergency situations.

While the bill dropped a provision that would have brought PFAS-contaminated bases under the federal Superfund law, providing funding and a requirement to clean them up, the NDAA pushes the Pentagon to work with state governments to start clean up using funds from the Defense Environmental Remediation Account.

It would also require that military firefighters are testing for PFAS levels in their blood, as the chemicals do not break down over time and are known to build up in the human body.

In the mean time, the Air Force has been testing a system that might be able to remove PFAS from ground water, and DoD is funding research into a new firefighting foam.

US State Department ‘firmly opposes’ ICC probe into Israeli war crimes allegations, insisting court lacks jurisdiction

21-12-19 08:16:00,

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has voiced “firm” opposition to a bid in the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate alleged war crimes committed by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories.

After nearly four years of preliminary investigation, the ICC’s top prosecutor Fatou Bensouda said on Friday that the war crimes probe would be expanded into a full-scale inquiry, looking into whether Israel has carried out atrocities in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, as well as Gaza. In a statement echoing earlier remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Pompeo said the case had no merit.

“We firmly oppose this and any other action that seeks to target Israel unfairly,” Pompeo said on Friday, arguing that because Palestine does not qualify as a “sovereign state” and is not a party to the ICC’s founding charter, the Rome Statute, it cannot bring cases before the court.

Today, the #ICC prosecutor raised serious questions about the ICC’s jurisdiction to investigate #Israel. Israel is not a state party to the ICC. We firmly oppose this unjustified inquiry that unfairly targets Israel. The path to lasting peace is through direct negotiations.

— Secretary Pompeo (@SecPompeo) December 21, 2019

The top US diplomat also reiterated a “long standing objection” to any claim that the ICC has jurisdiction over non-member states, such as Israel and the United States, “absent a referral from the UN Security Council” or explicit cooperation from the nation in question. While then-President Bill Clinton signed the Rome Statute in 2000, it was never formally ratified by the Senate. Israel, too, was an early signer to the statute, but also never finalized its membership in the organization.

Netanyahu says ICC has ‘NO JURISDICTION’ to probe Israeli ‘war crimes’ in Palestine

PM Netanyahu made a nearly identical argument to Pompeo’s earlier on Friday, insisting the court had no jurisdiction and that Palestine had not achieved statehood – a goal Palestinians have pursued for decades despite tooth-and-nail opposition from both Tel Aviv and its American benefactor.

While Palestine has yet to achieve statehood,

Trump Protesting Syrian – Russian Oil Agreements by Terrorist Attacks on Syrian Oil Facilities

21-12-19 08:01:00,

Three main oil and gas facilities in the central province of Homs were targeted by terrorist attacks earlier this morning.

The Syrian Ministry of Oil reported the incident on its social media pages and relayed by SANA. These attacks are occurring a couple of days after the Syrian Parliament approved 2 oil exploration contracts with Russian companies.

Trump’s declaration of his interest in controlling the Syrian oil is translated by his forces occupying some of the main Syrian oil fields northeast of the country, and with his terrorists now bombing other oil facilities.

Syrian oil facilities have been the main target of the US-sponsored terrorists dubbed ‘Peaceful Protesters’ since the early days of the US-led World War of Terror against Syria. Oil exploration and refinery machinery were stolen in broad daylight by al-Qaeda terrorists moving into Turkey with the help of Turkish forces.

Systematic bombing of Syrian oil and gas pipelines was a main objective to harm the Syrian people, especially in winter seasons, and even a crew of the Pentagon’s propaganda news channel, the CNN, blew an oil pipeline themselves and filmed it on cameras and then blamed the Syrian army of it…!

This latest attack targeted the main Syrian oil refinery in Homs, Central Syria, along with the South-Central Gas Plant, and Al-Rayyan Gas Plant, all in Homs province.

The Syrian Ministry of Oil reported that the targeted plants and refinery sustained damage in some of its production facilities.

Specialized technical workshops have been dispatched instantly to the site and are working on extinguishing the fires and repairing the damages, the ministry added.

Meanwhile, Trump with the help of his joker Erdogan and ‘experts’ from the Al-Saud regime continue stealing Syrian oil from the fields occupied by terrorists loyal to the junta ruling the White House. The stolen Syrian oil is smuggled into Turkey then sold to Israel.

Terrorists of ISIS, Nusra Front, FSA, and the separatist Kurdish SDF militia participated and continue to participate in this ugly theft, while humanitarian bastards at the United Nations Security Council try to pass a resolution to extend illegal across the borders supply routes for the terrorists from Turkey into northern Syria for an additional year and open the 5th crossing.

Guess Which 2020 Candidates Big Tech Employees Are Donating To?

20-12-19 10:18:00,

Which 2020 presidential candidates are employees of the world’s largest tech companies donating to? The answer might surprise.

According to Federal Election Commission data analyzed by Yahoo Finance!, while former Vice President Joe Biden may be the national frontrunner according to polls, he’s at the of the pack for those working at Microsoft, Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix and Google.

Who’s their favorite? Everyone but Netflix employees prefer Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to the tune of around 30%.

Donations for Elizabeth Warren hover around 20% (26% at Google), while anywhere from 10 – 22.4% of employees tossed their money into a dumpster fire with donations to Kamala Harris, who exited the race earlier this month – over a lack of finances.

Interestingly, President Trump received anywhere from 1.4% of donations from Google employees, to 13.7% of donations at Netflix!

Biden, meanwhile, gets the saddest of trombones in big tech – with donations ranging from 0% at Netflix to 2.6% at Microsoft.

The CIA and Uyghur Jihadists

19-12-19 07:07:00,

Munich, 16 February 2018 : World Uyghur Congress president, Dolkun Isa, and Turkey Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım.

The “Xinjiang papers”, released on 16 November 2019 by the New York Times, have been spinned by the Western media as a plan to suppress Uyghur culture in China [1]. Written in Chinese, their interpretation may not be easily accessible to the Western world. In reality, China protects Uyghur culture, tolerates Muslim religion, while trying to stymie terrorist attacks and the separatist push coming from the World Uyghur Congress (WUC).

China has already published numerous studies [2] clarifying its policy.

The documents published by the New York Times attest to the determination of the Chinese government to use any means necessary to maintain civil peace. President Xi has called on the police to show “absolutely no mercy” towards terrorists. Indeed, the Chinese leader is up against a powerful organization, i.e. the World Uyghur Congress, which was created by the CIA during the Cold War, and which the US daily disingeniously portrays as being totally peaceful.

However, the World Uyghur Congress, based in Munich (Germany), has directly claimed responsibility for many deadly attacks in China. In addition, thousands of Uyghur combatants were sent to be trained in Syria with Turkey’s assistance. [3] More than 18,000 Uyghur jihadists are currently occupying the city of al-Zanbaki (Idlib governorate) where German and French NGOs provide them with food and health services.

Uyghur jihadists have garnered many supporters in Europe. Thus, lobbyists gathered in Brussels behind closed doors for a three-day seminar (7-9 December 2019), followed on 10 December by a conference in the European Parliament co-chaired by French MEP, Raphaël Glucksmann, and WUC president Dolkun Isa.

Lebanon: the background to the banking crisis of the century, by Thierry Meyssan

19-12-19 07:07:00,

The collapse of the Central Bank of Lebanon following a major state scam plunged the country into an unparalleled economic and financial crisis. The country is now paying for its 76 years of political dependence and 8 years of complete political vacancy. The reality of its situation is very different from the perception of its citizens.

JPEG - 40.7 kb
The three presidents. In the centre is General Michel Aoun, Christian President of the Republic, on the left the Shiite Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, on the right the Sunni President of the Interim Government Saad Hariri. Lebanon is not a democracy based on a balance of power between the Executive, the Legislative and the Judiciary, but a confessional system based on 17 religious communities. The extreme complexity of this system ensures the sustainability of warlords and foreign influence. Thus Michel Aoun was the main Christian leader during the civil war, Nabih Berri that of Amal, and Saad Hariri succeeded his father Rafik Hariri who ruled Lebanon exlusively in the name of Saudi Arabia and France after the civil war.

The Central Bank of Lebanon has again authorized private banks to freely deliver Lebanese pounds, but still no dollars.

This exchange control is illegal in law because it has not been validated by Parliament. Several large companies have already filed an application for interim relief before the courts. The wheat, oil and medicine import sectors are out of business, all the others are in recession.

Public debt stands at 154% of GDP. The Lebanese pound was depreciated by half its value in three months, taking the Syrian pound, already mistreated during the war by the Saudi and Qatari counterfeit currency, into its fall.

Causes of the crisis

This financial crisis led Parliament to adopt a new tax that triggered the demonstrations that have paralysed the country since October 17, 2019. In all likelihood, it originated in a massive scam set up by the country’s political leaders through the Central Bank.

A historical reminder is necessary here:

In fact, Lebanon has never been an independent state since its creation during the Second World War (1943). France set up a confessional system there that allowed it to preserve its influence after decolonization by depriving the Lebanese of any national political life.

Camera Footage Of Epstein’s First Suicide Attempt Has Disappeared, And Nobody Knows Why

19-12-19 09:01:00,

Authored by Paul Joseph Watson via Summit News,

Surveillance footage showing Jeffrey Epstein’s first alleged suicide attempt has “gone missing.”

On July 23, Epstein was sharing a cell with Nick Tartaglione when the disgraced sex trafficker apparently tried to hang himself. Epstein subsequently claimed that Tartaglione, a former cop accused of killing four people in a botched drug deal, had tried to kill him.

However, when Bruce Barket, Tartaglione’s lawyer, requested surveillance footage from the cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (which he had formally requested be preserved two days after the suicide attempt), he was told it had disappeared…

“We asked for all the video and photographic evidence to be preserved, specifically this surveillance video. Now it’s gone,” said Attorney Bruce Barket.

“I don’t know the details of how it was lost or destroyed or why it wasn’t retained when it should have been.”

The video footage was relevant to Tartaglione’s defense because it is potentially evidence of the ex-cop’s good character.

“It is on the surface troubling,” Barket added.

“I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve found out more details.”

According to TMZ, the feds had no explanation for why the footage has gone missing, they said they simply can’t find it.

More “mistakes”?

The judge, helpfully, told prosecutors to look further into what happened to it.

Finally, remember: There are no conspiracies and you can trust the authorities and the mainstream media… and, also, Epstein didn’t kill himself.

How Britain Dresses Up Crimes in Israel as ‘Charitable Acts’ – Global Research

19-12-19 08:54:00,

When is a war crime not a war crime? When, according to British officials, that war crime has been given a makeover as a “charitable act”.

The British state is being asked to account for its financial and moral support for a UK organisation accused of complicity in the ethnic cleansing of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homeland. So far, it appears determined to evade answering those questions.

The target of the campaign is the Jewish National Fund UK (JNF UK), which describes itself as “Britain’s oldest Israel charity”. Noting its role in “building Israel for over a century”, the organisation boasts: “Every penny raised by JNF UK is sent to a project in Israel.”

In fact, donations to JNF UK were used to buy some of the 250 million trees planted across Israel since 1948, the year when 750,000 Palestinians were forced out at gunpoint from their homes by the new Israeli army. Those expulsions were an event Palestinians call their Nakba, or “catastrophe”.

Afterwards, the Israeli army laid waste to many hundreds of Palestinian villages, turning them into rubble. Forests planted over the villages were then promoted as efforts to “make the desert bloom”.

Subsidised by taxpayers

In fact, the trees were intended primarily to block Palestinian refugees from ever being able to return to their villages and rebuild their homes. As a result, millions of Palestinians today languish in refugee camps across the Middle East, evicted from their homeland with the help of the forests.

JNF UK raised the funds for a parent organisation in Israel, the Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF), which enforced the expulsions by using the donations to plant the forests. The Israeli state’s ethnic cleansing of the native Palestinian population was effectively disguised as a form of environmentalism.

Britain and other Western states appear to have accepted that barely concealed deception. They have long treated their local JNF fundraising arms as charities. JNF UK received charitable status in 1939, nearly a decade before Israel was created as a Jewish state on the ruins of Palestinians’ homeland.

The forests are still managed with money raised through tax-deductible donations in Britain and elsewhere.

Establishment Journalists Call For Big Tech To CENSOR Everyone Else – Activist Post

18-12-19 08:19:00,

By Mac Slavo

In a major threat to what’s left of press freedom, establishment journalists are calling for Big Tech to censor those who won’t parrot the government-approved official narrative. Journalist Sulome Anderson has publicly called for censorship of a site because it’s an independent news source.

Anderson publicly requested that Google de-rank the independent news site The Grayzone. Anderson, who, according to her bio on her Twitter page, has published with news outlets such as The Washington PostNewsweekNew York Magazine, and Foreign Policy, labeled a recent article by Grayzone contributor Rania Khalek as “dangerous”. For her part, Khalek called Anderson’s comments to Google a “dangerous threat to press freedom.”

Khalek’s article, which Anderson specifically took aim at, is part of a two-piece investigation into alleged U.S. and Gulf states attempts to co-opt and influence the ongoing anti-corruption protests in Lebanon, according to Sputnik News.

Khalek writes that:

By joining the roadblocks around Beirut, the protesters have inadvertently allowed themselves to be used by these US-allied parties. Whether they know it or not, the media-friendly artists and students at the ring road in downtown Beirut have given cover to the Lebanese Forces roadblocks in the north and the [Progressive Socialist Party] and Future Party roadblocks in the south.

Who decides which protests are worthy/unworthy? And why?

It’s all about location!

Protest against a government the US hates and you’ll get the hero treatment in US media.

But protest against a US ally and you’re a rioter.

Watch my handy guide:

— Rania Khalek (@RaniaKhalek) November 15, 2019

Anderson lashed out against the article, calling The Grayzone a “conspiracy theorist website” worthy of Google’s power-hungry censorship:

“It’s Not a Conspiracy Theory… It Is Happening Right Now”

Can someone tell me why this piece on a conspiracy theorist website written by a woman who parachuted into Beirut to spread sectarian propaganda and now pretends to be native shows up on the first page of a @Google news search about the #LebanonProtests?

Snowden has to hand book profits over to US govt, judge rules

18-12-19 08:15:00,

Whatever profits Edward Snowden’s book “Permanent Record” has earned since its September release will need to be handed over to the US government, thanks to a new ruling from a federal judge.

Profits from Edward Snowden’s memoir, ‘Permanent Record,’ must be handed over to the US government, a federal judge has ruled, all because the whistleblower didn’t let intelligence agencies vet the work before its publication.

Judge Liam O’Grady ruled in federal court in Virginia this week that because Snowden did not first submit his book to the NSA or CIA for approval – something government employees with high enough security clearances are forced to do– the US government is entitled to profits from the work, as well as money earned from any paid speeches related to the book.

“The contractual language of the Secrecy Agreements is unambiguous,” O’Grady said in his ruling. “Snowden accepted employment and benefits conditioned upon pre-publication review obligations.”

It should come as little surprise that the man who stands against the US intelligence community spying on its own citizens did not want his book to come under the eyes of that same system in pre-publication.

Snowden’s lawyer responded to the court’s decision by saying the NSA whistleblower preferred to risk losing potential book earnings in exchange for releasing his story unfiltered and untouched by US government officials.

“It’s far-fetched to believe that the government would have reviewed Mr Snowden’s book, or anything else he submitted, in good faith,” Brett Max Kaufman of the ACLU Center for Democracy said. “For that reason, Mr Snowden preferred to risk his future royalties than to subject his experiences to improper government censorship.”

The US has been trying to prosecute Snowden for espionage since he leaked details about the NSA’s mass electronic surveillance program in 2013,  revealing the government was collecting data on citizens’ phone calls without obtaining individual warrants. Snowden managed to flee the country before being apprehended, and currently resides in Moscow, where he has been granted asylum.

Trump Creates a New Nation – Global Research

18-12-19 04:23:00,

The pandering by Donald Trump and those around him to Israel and to some conservative American Jews is apparently endless. Last Wednesday the president signed an executive order that is intended to address alleged anti-Semitism on college campuses by cutting off funds to those universities that do not prevent criticism of Israel. To provide a legal basis to defund, the administration is relying on title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits any discrimination based on race, color or national origin. Since the Act does not include religion, Trump’s order is declaring ipso facto that henceforth “Jewishness” is a nationality.

The executive order does not mention Israel by name, but it does state that its assumptions are based on “the non-legally binding working definition of anti-Semitism adopted on May 26, 2016, by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), which states, ‘Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities’; and (ii) the ‘Contemporary Examples of Anti-Semitism’ identified by the IHRA, to the extent that any examples might be useful as evidence of discriminatory intent.”

The IHRA “contemporary examples” supplementing the basic description are important. They considerably broaden the definition of anti-Semitism, to include “Accusing Jewish citizens of being more loyal to Israel, or to the alleged priorities of Jews worldwide, than to the interests of their own nations” and “claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor.” The examples also included holding Israel to a higher standard than other nations when criticizing it, and IHRA offers no possible mitigation even if the accusations are, in the case of the behavior of some Jews and of Israel, accurate.

Those who are confused because in the past expressions like “Italian” or “Irish” or “British” meant actual countries should recognize that Trump-speak never respects any connection with reality when there is political advantage just sitting out there waiting to be snatched and exploited. And that imperative is considerably multiplied when one is referring to either the state of Israel or of Jews in general, particularly as seen by the Trump White House,

Trump Has Given Israel Immunity To International Law –

Trump Has Given Israel Immunity To International Law

Paul Craig Roberts

In Israel’s treatment of Occupied Palestine, Israel has been violating international law for decades. Under international law, an occupying power is not permitted to incorporate the occupied land into its own domain. However, Israel has persistently done so, evicting Palestinians from their homes, villages, and farm lands in order to build apartments for Jewish immigrants.

As people learned of the fate suffered by Palestinians at Israel’s hands, criticism of Israel’s policy toward Palestinians by human rights activists grew, and boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movements arose.

These developments are inconvenient for Israel. Israeli media have indicated that the Israeli government is ready to complete the annexation of Palestine by evicting the remaining Palestinians and incorporating the remaining Palestinian land into Israel. Prior to taking this step, Israel wants to silence critics and prevent BDS action.

In the US the Israel Lobby has attempted to have the Anti-Semitism Awareness Act, the Israel Anti-Boycott Act, and the Strengthening America’s Security in the Middle East Act passed. However these acts clearly violate Constitutionally-protected free speech and protest, and Congress, although happy to please the Israel Lobby, doesn’t want to pass acts that the Supreme Court will obviously overturn. The ACLU opposes these acts on First Amendment grounds.

So the Israel Lobby has turned to Donald Trump to achieve by executive order what they have not achieved by legislation.

As the Israel Lobby has succeeded in equating criticism of Israeli government policies with anti-semitism or hatred of Jews, Trump’s executive order against anti-semitism permits the US government to cut off money to universities and organizations in which criticism of Israel is expressed in lectures, colloquiums, or debates.

Trump’s executive order has initiated a debate whether Trump has in effect declared Jews to be a nationality. See, for example, and!msg/newsfromunderground/IuhQIQZgu_w/3M3-kW-1BwAJ .

This is the wrong debate. The issue is why should Israel be the only country among the approximately 200 on earth whose policies cannot be criticized? Why should Israel be the only country that cannot be sanctioned and boycotted?

An Explosive Documentary Exposing Pedophiles In Parliament & The British Royal Family

18-12-19 10:24:00,

  • The Facts:

Sonia Poulton, a British journalist, social commentator, and filmmaker, has been investigating the dark web of pedophilia for years. Some of her research has been complied into a documentary called “Pedophiles In Parliament.”

  • Reflect On:

Evidence has been emerging for decades with regards to this type of activity in ‘high profile places.’ Why, only now, is the entire planet starting to wake up to this fact? Reflect on how much power and control these people have.

”They use all forms of persuasion to prevent people from speaking out, to silence people. Threats, intimidation, blackmail, financial deprivation. And all types of harassment such as put under intensive surveillance, telephone tapping, all of this. They pull out the stops and they have unlimited funds because those funds are supplied by the tax payer” Andrea Davison, Former Intelligence Agent (source)

Whilst the global press is focusing on Prince Andrew’s alleged involvement with Jefferey Epstein’s child trafficking sex ring, this may, in fact, actually pale in comparison to other criminal activity involving children by the hands of the British Establishment.

Sonia Poulton, a British journalist, social commentator, and filmmaker, has been investigating the dark web of pedophilia for years that connects Margaret Thatcher, ‘Sir’ Edward Heath, David Cameron, Theresa May and Jeremey Corbyn to the cover-up (and for some, the actual facilitation) of sex crimes against children.  It is thought that this cover-up, may have been going on for at least 30 years.

Her documentary ‘Paedophiles in Parliament’ is a shocking expose which links many MP’s to child abuse.  Sonia exposes how the British Royal Family is also tied into this.

Prominent Royal members were openly well-known friends to the now-deceased and notoriously depraved pedophile Jimmy Saville.  Curiously, it is said that he had access to the Palace whenever he liked.  With MI5 and Scotland Yard having the job of ‘vetting’ everyone around the Royals, it would have been known to them, that Jimmy Saville at the very least, had a very bad reputation and really was not ‘royal’ material.

Yet, he had a very close relationship with Prince Charles, for decades.

It is now alleged that there were at least 450 cases of abuse by the hands of Jimmy Saville and that 8 British police forces knew of this and did nothing about it.

Video: Syria’s President Assad Discusses Syria’s Reconstruction, China’s “Belt and Road” and US Aggression – Global Research

17-12-19 03:32:00,

In the third of recent international interviews, Syria’s President Bashar al Assad met with Phoenix Television, to discuss Belt and Road development projects with China’s Phoenix Television.

Given that Syria and China are both part of the original Silk Road that created a beautiful explosion of the development and trade that uplifted humanity, this interview has greater importance than the recent one with France’s Paris Match and that with Rai News 24, subsequently banned in Italy. Transcript courtesy of SANA.

Journalist:  Mr. President, on behalf of the Chinese television channel, Phoenix, I would like to thank you for giving us this interview.

President Assad:  You are welcome.

Question 1:  Mr. President, allow me to start straight away…  Syria has been able to make great achievements in fighting terrorism and large areas of Syrian territories have been restored.  Now, where will you begin the reconstruction of Syria?

President Assad:  In fact, we are not waiting for the end of a particular stage of the war in order to start reconstruction; reconstruction starts immediately after the liberation of any area, whether it is big or small, a village or a city.  Reconstruction has stages, the first of which is rebuilding the infrastructure, particularly in the areas of water and electricity.  Later, the state shifts its focus to schools, health centers and hospitals.

However, the most important stage in reconstruction, which comes later and constitutes the most serious challenge for us, is restoring daily activity especially economic livelihood.  This requires a great deal of effort and is affected by internal factors and the external environment – namely the embargo imposed by Western countries on Syria, which has a negative affect and slows the process down.  So, reconstruction has already started, but we need more investments from within and outside the country in order to scale it up.

Question 2:  And here we ask, Mr. President, what are the most important areas in which Syria needs the help of friendly countries, including China?

President Assad:  China specifically provides assistance in reconstruction particularly in the humanitarian domain.  As I mentioned earlier, life’s necessities are water and electricity and China is providing support in these areas through humanitarian grants which we apply to the areas most in need.

Forbes Reports How AI in Driverless Cars May Shape Where You Go Whether You Like It Or Not – Activist Post

17-12-19 09:01:00,

By B.N. Frank

According to one study, 82% of Americans think Artificial Intelligence (AI) is going to be more harmful than helpful to humanity.

Even tech inventor and proponent, Elon Musk, has expressed concerns.

Wow and scary!

AI gets a bad rap for many good reasons (see 1, 2).  So do driverless cars and also for many good reasons (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 7).  A recent Forbes article provides additional disturbing details about AI in driverless cars.  If you don’t have time to read the whole thing – the conclusion pretty much says it all:

Many assume that driverless cars will be a neutral form of transport and merely take people from point A to point B.

That’s a naive perspective.

Sure, right now, the focus is entirely on being able to get a self-driving car to properly navigate the roads and be safe in doing so. Once we get past the initial aspects of having driverless cars that work appropriately, there is no question that the driving efforts will further be monetized.

Fleet owners of self-driving cars are going to seek ways to wring more dollars out of their expensive driverless cars. There are in-car advertising possibilities, along with the driverless car acting as a roving billboard.

Another facet of making money would be to allow for the digital nudging of passengers, getting those riders to be mind-tricked into going to where there’s more money to be made by the owner.

Don’t assume that I am saying that this kind of driverless car induced greed is inherently bad or wrong since it could be that the outcome is better for the rider too.

My point is that we need to be awakened to the notion that where a self-driving car will take you is not a foregone conclusion and we’ll all need to be on our toes about going along for a ride.

NATO’s Real Purpose: Welfare For The Military-Industrial Complex

17-12-19 08:42:00,

Authored by Alastair Crooke via The Strategic Culture Foundation,

Kevin Baron, editor of Defense One (a leading US defence publication, funded by the defence industry) explains his anxieties about NATO’s future:

“NATO’s external threats, and internal leaders’ divisions are not what worries me the most … I expected panelists I spoke with over the past month to raise familiar issues … but I was surprised by their serious concern about the very fabric of the alliance: ‘This time it’s different’, many insist: “The philosophy on which this whole institution is built is profoundly challenged,” opined journalist Bobby Ghosh of Bloomberg Opinion (“in our pre-summit conversation at IISS”). [Emphasis added].

“His point was – that if leaders such as Trump and Erdogan continue to cosy-up to Russia – then what’s the purpose of this Cold War-era alliance? That’s a fair point. But I believe NATO’s biggest threat [comes from] its own inward-turning electorates. To global security leaders, from think tanks to the secure ‘tank’ inside the Pentagon, NATO is an essential organization and tool for the West’s ‘way of life’. It’s not even a question … Those leaders believe: How could anyone want to harm that?”.

Yet that is exactly what is happening. Political leaders no longer want (or can afford, politically) to go where US Defence Establishment points.

“Perhaps the biggest threat to the alliance” Baron suggests, is precisely “the gap between those political leaders – and the national security community [sic] leaders, gathering on the side lines, begging to be heard.”

President Macron appeared to pinpoint this gap exactly, when he said, “what we are currently experiencing is the brain death of NATO”. Some observers saw this as Macron grandstanding, as he seeks to seize the political leadership of Europe from a fading, Chancellor Merkel (which to an extent, he probably was). But the attention-grabbing point, more likely, was intended to underscore how the world has changed: Both France and Germany are experiencing grave internal political protest, as Europe’s economies slow.

The EU needs to re-position geo-politically, Macron asserts, “and secondly, we need to reopen a strategic dialogue with Russia – which without being naïve – will take time,” Macron said this week.

Afghanistan War – the Crime of the Century

“We were devoid of a fundamental understanding of Afghanistan. We didn’t know what we were doing.” So said Gen. Douglas Lute, who oversaw the US war on Afghanistan under Presidents Bush and Obama. Eighteen years into the longest war in US history, we are finally finding out, thanks to thousands of pages of classified interviews on the war published by the Washington Post last week, that General Lute’s cluelessness was shared by virtually everyone involved in the war.

What we learned in what is rightly being called the “Pentagon Papers” of our time, is that hundreds of US Administration officials – including three US Presidents – knowingly lied to the American people about the Afghanistan war for years. This wasn’t just a matter of omitting some unflattering facts. This was about bald-faced lying about a war they knew was a disaster from almost day one.

Remember President Bush’s Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld? Remember how supremely confident he was at those press conferences, acting like the master of the universe? Here’s what he told the Pentagon’s special inspector general who compiled these thousands of interviews on Afghanistan: “I have no visibility into who the bad guys are.”

It is not only members of the Bush, Obama, and Trump Administrations who are guilty of this massive fraud. Falsely selling the Afghanistan war as a great success was a bipartisan activity on Capitol Hill. In the dozens of hearings I attended in the House International Relations Committee, I do not recall a single “expert” witness called who told us the truth. Instead, both Republican and Democrat-controlled Congresses called a steady stream of neocon war cheerleaders to lie to us about how wonderfully the war was going. Victory was just around the corner, they all promised. Just a few more massive appropriations and we’d be celebrating the end of the war.

Argentina: Devastating Consequences of GMO-based Intensive ag on Native Amphibians – Global Research

    16-12-19 08:36:00,

According the study below, soybean production in South America now covers over 57 million ha, more than on any other continent. The consequences for amphibians have been devastating, as is clear from the study highlights and abstract.

The authors conclude in their study: “Our work has triggered alarm about the detrimental impact of pesticides (insecticides and herbicides) on native amphibians inhabiting the shallow ponds of the richest agricultural lands of South America. We documented effects caused by pesticides on tadpoles which can compromise the viability of populations living in agricultural landscapes. The intensive agricultural model based on the GMO technological package currently applied in South America is expected to expand (and intensify) over the coming years. Therefore, it is also expected that native amphibian populations will continue being affected. We suggest that conservation priorities should be focused on developing a better policy legislation for pesticide use, including not only the protection of human settlements but also native terrestrial and wetland habitats.”

Pesticides in the real world: The consequences of GMO-based intensive agriculture on native amphibians

    M. Gabriela Agostini, Ignacio Roesler, Carlos Bonetto, Alicia E.Ronco, David Bilenca

    Biological Conservation

    Volume 241, January 2020, 108355

    (open access)

    • Collaborative work with farmers allowed us to test pesticide impacts on amphibians.
    • Tadpole survival dramatically decreased after pesticides reached the ponds.
    • 93% of surviving tadpoles exposed to insecticides, exhibited impairment of mobility.
    • Glyphosate exposures caused sublethal effects, reducing tadpole mobility in 79% [of tadpoles].
    • We detected pesticide impacts on amphibians in real exposure scenarios.

Pesticide use has been suggested as one of the major drivers of the global amphibian decline. Laboratory and mesocosm studies have addressed several questions to understand the mechanism by which pesticides cause detrimental effects on amphibians. However, the extrapolation of those results to natural populations may not be adequate to predict environmental impacts or to understand the role of pesticides in the amphibian decline. By using in situ enclosures, we evaluated the effects (survival and mobility) of common pesticides applied by farmers (cypermethrin, chlorpyrifos, endosulfan, glyphosate, and 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid) on tadpoles.

The European Commission Is ‘Irresponsible’ in Not Addressing 5G Health Risks – Global Research

    16-12-19 08:18:00,

The European Commission is “irresponsible” in not addressing the health risks associated with the future rollout of next-generation mobile network, Bulgarian MEP Ivo Hristov has said.

His comments echo concerns recently highlighted by EU telecoms ministers, related to “non-technical” elements of 5G cybersecurity, as the debate continues around Europe’s ability to keep pace with the rest of the world on 5G deployment.

However, discussion over the potential health risks of establishing denser network infrastructures consisting of considerably higher capacities has recently surfaced as a growing concern among Parliamentarians in Brussels.

Speaking at an event at the European Parliament on Tuesday (10 December), S&D’s Hristov hit out at the Commission for failing to conduct a health impact assessment report on 5G, despite warnings being highlighted by many in the scientific community.

“Currently the EU has no assessment of the human health risk of the introduction of 5G technology,” he said. “The European Commission took the position that such an assessment was not necessary, despite warnings of the scientific community. I find this irresponsible.”

He added that he has asked the Parliament’s Science and Technology Options Assessment (STOA) Panel to prepare a study of the potential effects on health and the environment from the introduction of 5G networks.

Hristov’s point was supported on Tuesday by a contingency of Green MEPs who came out in force to challenge various telecom industry representatives, keen on making sure that Europe doesn’t lag further behind in its deployment of 5G network infrastructure.

5G technologies were described as an “inevitability” by Prof. Vladimir Poulkov, head of the intelligent communications infrastructure R&D Laboratory at Sofia Tech Park.

Poulkov said there were “forces at play” that would mean 5G deployment in the EU would become a necessity in order to keep up with the demand for higher capacity data transfers and speeds, something, he said, may help with wider goals in reducing Europe’s energy consumption.

This point in particular was heavily refuted by Paul Lannoye, former MEP and chairman of the Environmental Group Grappe, who claimed that there are no benefits whatsoever to the application of 5G in the energy sector.

    In terms of the environment,
