‘Britain needs referendum on independence from US’– UK journo on Assange extradition to US (VIDEO)

The referendum Britain should really hold is on whether to win independence from the US, because the Americans are treating Julian Assange as one of their citizens with their extradition request, journalist Neil Clark has told RT.

Clark was responding to the revelation by British Home Secretary Sajid Javid on Thursday that he has signed a request for the extradition of Assange to the US, where he faces computer hacking charges.

Clark told RT that he wasn’t particularly surprised with the latest developments concerning the Australian WikiLeaks co-founder. He claimed that the Tory Party candidates currently jostling to become the next UK prime minister were “falling over themselves to show who is the most slavishly pro-American.”

We had a referendum famously of course, three years ago, on whether to leave the European Union. I think the referendum we really need in Britain, even more important than that, is whether we have independence from the US.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Today program, Javid said that he’d signed and certified the papers on Wednesday, with the order going before the UK courts on Friday.
Assange is accused by the US of violating the Espionage Act, but Clark believes such a charge is flawed, because the 47-year-old is not an American citizen.

The key point is that Julian Assange isn’t an American citizen and, yet, it seems that the US seems to believe they have universal jurisdiction.. he’s an Australian. How can he be accused of espionage when he isn’t even a citizen of that country.

The US justice department has filed 17 new charges against the Australian journalist. In May, he was additionally charged with one count of conspiring with Chelsea Manning, the former intelligence analyst and whistleblower, to gain access to the US Pentagon network.

The US Desperately Needs a New Secretary of State. Pompeo Doesn’t Understand Article 2 of the Constitution – Global Research

the-us-desperately-needs-a-new-secretary-of-state.-pompeo-doesn’t-understand-article-2-of-the-constitution-–-global-research

06-05-19 10:31:00,

The ignorant warmonger masquerading as an American Secretary of State should be arrested for his impersonation of an American government official.  Mike Pompeo cannot possibly be the US Secretary of State, because not even Donald Trump would appoint “an idiot” to this high position who thinks that Article 2 of the Constitution gives the president the authority to declare war and invade other countries.

Here is what imposter Pompeo said:

“The president has his full range of Article 2 authorities and I’m very confident that any action we took in Venezuela would be lawful.”

This was Pompeo’s answer when asked if President Trump could intervene in the country’s power struggle without congressional approval. (See this) Of course, it is not “the country’s power struggle.” It is Washington’s effort to overthrow the Bolivarian Revolution and regain control over Venezuela’s resources.

Pompeo is twice idiot.  The US Constitution gives the power to declare war only to Congress. Moreover, under the Nuremburg laws laid down by the US government after World War 2, it is a war crime to commit of war of aggression, which is what US military intervention in Venezuela would be.

I should have said that Pompeo is three times idiot, because he asserts that countries that are diplomatically defending the democratically elected government of Venezuela are “interfering with the Venezuelan people’s right to restore their own democracy.”  Someone should tell Pompeo that it is the Venezuelan people and the Venezuelan military that have refused Washington’s financial bribes and threats who are supporting Venezuelan democracy, not Washington whose failed coup might be followed up with another Washington war crime invasion.

Lavrov and Putin have found it difficult in the past to put down a hard foot in order to deter more illegal war crime aggression from Washington.  Lavrov is too civilized of a person to have to confront Pompeo.

Putin should send Shoigu to deal with Pompeo. The time for polite, accommodating talk is long past.  A country and its people are at stake.

Let’s hope Russia and China do not permit another Libya.

Someone needs to inform RT  about the US Constitution.  RT incorrectly reported that: “Article 2 of the US Constitution grants the president the right to declare war and act as commander in chief of the country’s armed forces.”  Utter nonsense!

France needs €17bn to meet Yellow Vests’ demands – Finance Minister Le Maire

france-needs-e17bn-to-meet-yellow-vests’-demands-–-finance-minister-le-maire

30-04-19 12:25:00,

The total cost of the measures announced by French President Emmanuel Macron to respond to the demands of the Yellow Vests movement amounted to nearly €17 billion, Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire has said.

Speaking on Tuesday on France 2, he promised to partially offset the bill by saving money on public spending. Of the €17 billion, ten billion correspond to measures announced by Macron in December.

In response to months of anti-government protests, Macron said last week that he would cut income tax further by €5 billion ($5.6 billion).

“The president has set a principle of which I am the guarantor: each euro of decrease in income tax must be financed by a decrease of one euro in public spending,” Le Maire told LCI television.

Make No Mistake: ISIS Needs the US to Survive

Make No Mistake: ISIS Needs the US to Survive

    Scott RITTER

“No war is over until the enemy says it’s over,” James Mattis, the former Marine Corps General and recently resigned secretary of state, is quoted as saying. “We may think it over, we may declare it over, but in fact, the enemy gets a vote.” Mattis’s statement was made in 2012, well before President Donald Trump, in a surprise announcement on December 19, declared victory over the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, better known as ISIS.

“We have defeated ISIS in Syria, my only reason for being there during the Trump Presidency,” the president wrote. He later expanded on that sentiment in a video message, posted on Twitter. “Our boys, our young men and women, are coming home now,” Trump noted. “We won.”

But a recent attack on U.S. forces in Syria, carried out by a suicide bomber which ISIS claimed was operating on its behalf, has led to an outpouring of criticism of Trump’s precipitous decision. “ISIS has claimed credit for killing American troops in Syria today,” Senator Marco Rubio tweeted in the aftermath of the attack. “If true, it is a tragic reminder that ISIS not been defeated and is transforming into a dangerous insurgency. This is no time to retreat from the fight against ISIS. Will only embolden & strengthen them.”

While Mattis’s words were a cautionary warning about premature celebration, Rubio’s sentiments, along with those who share his point of view, miss the point of the ISIS attack altogether. The U.S. was on the verge of withdrawing from Syria, something Rubio and others believe would give ISIS a victory. Why, then, would ISIS attack American forces in such a high-profile manner, creating the condition for a reversal of Trump’s decision and keeping the U.S. military in Syria for the foreseeable future?

As far as military patrols go, the one carried out by forces assigned to the Special Operations Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve (SOJTF-OIR) in the northern Syrian city of Manbij on January 16 was as routine as it gets. SOJTF-OIR was authorized under Section 1209 of the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to provide assistance to the so-called “Vetted Syrian Opposition,” or VSO.

Who Needs Warriors? The Empire Does. US Army Revving Up its Ad Campaigns – Global Research

Who Needs Warriors? The Empire Does. US Army Revving Up its Ad Campaigns. “Ultimate Fight” for Country

The US Army, perhaps in need of more ‘boots on the sand’, is revving up its ad campaigns. The latest television ad says it plain and clear: Warriors Wanted!  (see screen shot below) And why not just appeal to the childlike, video game raised young men and women to join up? Then they can get away from having to work a dead end job, or spend years in college studying (at great expense by the way) for uncertain future employment.

Now these low income young kids can serve their country by becoming occupiers of another Arab country that they themselves really don’t understand why they are even IN!

This baby boomer cannot even conceive of how far my nation has regressed culturally. The celebration of violence is rampant! Who would have ever imagined the popularity of what they actually have the nerve to call a sport in Ultimate Fighting? If you have not yet watched one of these (so called) matches, please do; but first sit and watch the gladiator school scene from the 1960 film Spartacus.

    US Marines: Ultimate Fighting

You will see, more or less, just what this newest form of ‘Violence as Sport’ has given us. So, the same young men (and some women) who grew up on violent video games, and then graduated to UFC, make a great source for this new empire’s army of warriors. I am not taking away from the super physical abilities of those who fight in those caged rings, taken right out of Spartacus. Just as with professional boxers and athletes from all sports, these folks are dedicated and train very hard. It is just that to celebrate violence is NOT what we humans are supposed to have evolved out of, and not back into.

When this writer played college football back in the 70s, there were but a few of my teammates who took ‘uppers’ and steroids for better performance. Nowadays, they have to continually drug test all athletes because of the preponderance of new and better forms of these enhancers.
