Celebrity Protesters and Extinction Rebellion – Global Research

Benedict Cumberbatch. Olivia Colman. Fine actors. They believe in Extinction Rebellion, or perhaps, rebelling against the prospect of extinction. The environment thing, humanity as a damnably scandalous, ecologically damaging species. But they also believe in taking sponsorship from the very same entities who are doing their best (or worst) to engage in matters of existential oblivion. So the circle of contradiction, even hypocrisy, is complete.

The matter has come to the fore over overt expressions of support for XR’s two-week effort of disruption in London by the entertainment set. Severable notable sites have received the attention of the climate change protest group. The Treasury building has been sprayed with fake blood. The London Underground train system has been disrupted. Protestors have glued themselves to trains, to floors and even mounted trains. Roads to Westminster were blocked, sit-ins staged at City Airport. Over a 1,700 arrests have been made.

Phil Kingston was one such figure, not exactly a rabble rouser or hardened rioter. The 83-year-old glued his hand to the side of a carriage at Shadwell and was concerned for his grandchildren. “I’m also very concerned about what’s happening in the poorer parts of the world who are being hit hardest by climate breakdown.” Being Christian, he expressed concern about “God’s creation being wrecked across the world.” Kingston was also jointed by a rather eclectic sampling: a vicar, an ex-Buddhist instructor, and a former GP.

The incident, which involved aggressive scuffling between commuters and the protesters, was acknowledged in a statement from the movement as something divisive. “In light of today’s events, Extinction Rebellion will be looking at ways to bring people together rather than create an unnecessary division.” Others were keen to pick holes in the rationale of the protest: Why, for instance, get at an electric train? Within XR, things are far from uniform.

Such protestors were a rather humble lot, but it did not take long for the bigger fish to join the shoal. Cumberbatch added his voice of support, his grin flashing as it was snapped by cameras in front of the Extinction Rebellion hearse blocking traffic to Trafalgar Square. Behind him were the conspicuous words hovering with spectral, foreboding promise: “Our future.”

The criticism of this was not far behind.

Hong Kong Protesters Are Collectively Punishing the Peaceful Population – Global Research

Thousands of demonstrators held an unlawful assembly in Hong Kong International Airport on Monday and prompted the cancellation of all flights for the day out of safety concerns. This marks a dramatic escalation in the weeks-long demonstrations against a now-suspended fugitive bill that have grown increasingly violent since they first began. There’s no doubt that the political radicalism on full display nowadays is symptomatic of an ongoing “color revolution” attempt tacitly supported by foreign forces.

My article last month about how “It’s deceptive to talk about a ‘cycle of violence’ in Hong Kong” pointed out that the Western mainstream media’s biased reporting on these rowdy disturbances aims to discredit the city’s law enforcement officers as part of a plot to fuel even more protests on the basis of alleged “police brutality” on top of the preexisting political motivations that many of the participants already have.

It was on this supposed pretext that thousands of people flooded into Hong Kong’s airport in order to disrupt its activities just like they’ve attempted to do over the past few weeks in trying to stop its subway service.

The attempt to bring the city to a standstill by targeting its public transport systems amounts to nothing less than a cruel act of collective punishment by a radical minority against the peaceful majority of Hong Kong’s citizens, one that intends to not only inconvenience their lives, but also to damage their livelihoods by trying to harm the city’s economy.

In fact, one can even say that several thousand people are trying to hold the metropolis of over seven million people hostage to their political demands through the strategic application of “color revolution” technologies against the city’s vital infrastructure.

The end result is that the average person might suffer if the protesters’ illegal actions lead to an eventual decline in the city’s economy. The protesters are expecting that this would cause their “color revolution” ranks to swell as people join their movement in response, but this is nothing more than wishful thinking on their part since the people know that their livelihoods are being impacted because of the protesters’ collective punishment against them,

1000 Protesters Against 5G in Switzerland. Telecom Industry Has Provided No Scientific Evidence That 5G is Safe

Last month, Activist Post also reported about 5G opposition in Switzerland. It’s only increasing.

From SwissInfo.ch

Simmering opposition to the rollout of 5G technology in Switzerland climbed a notch on Friday as a 1,000-strong protest was held in the capital, Bern.

Organised by the Stop5G citizen group, the gathering on Bern’s Waisenhausplatz square – a couple of stone’s throws away from the federal parliament – was the first significant national expression of resistance to plans for a 5G Switzerland.

Scientists, doctors, engineers, environmentalists, left-wing politicians, and even a tech-sceptic musician took to the stage to highlight the key demand outlined by event organiser Tamlin Schibler Ulmann: “a national moratorium on 5G development”.

Widely-distributed flyers outlined their reasons: health concerns (they fear that diseases from cancer to depression to chronic fatigue may be caused by  electromagnetic waves); the damage to sustainable development of the infrastructure and energy usage of 5G; and the security threat to our private lives that universal connectivity implies.

In February Telecom Industry executives provided U.S. congressional testimony that they cannot provide any scientific evidence that 5G is safe.

U.S. elected officials continue to ask for evidence of safety (See 1, 2).

The first 5G court case was won last year in England but only after it had been installed in street lights and residents became sick.

There is research that proves 5G is harmful.   In fact, here is research that proves all sources of cell phone and wireless WiFi radiation is harmful.  It’s especially harmful to children.  Our pets are affected too.  Wildlife and nature are affected as well.

Activist Post has published many articles on the promotion and forced installation of 4G and 5G small cells along with Internet of Things (IoT) technology.  People in the U.S. and all over the world are trying to stop this in their communities (see 1,
