Lies Which the West Manufactures and Then Consumes – Global Research

lies-which-the-west-manufactures-and-then-consumes-–-global-research

22-11-19 01:00:00,

After my work in the Middle East had finished, at least for the time being, I was waiting for my flight to Santiago de Chile. In Paris. I could count on a few ‘free’ days, processing what I had heard and witnessed in Beirut. Day after day, for long hours, I sat in a lounge, typing and typing; reflecting and typing.

As I was working, above me, France 24 television news channel was on, beaming from a flat screen.

The people around me were coming and going: West African elites on their wild shopping sprees, shouting unceremoniously into their mobile phones. Koreans and Japanese doing Paris. Rude German and North American beefy types, discussing business, laughing vulgarly, disregarding ‘lower beings’, in fact everyone in their immediate radius.

No matter what was happening in my hotel, France 24 was on, and on, and on. Yes, precisely; for 24 hours, recycling for days and nights the same stories, once in a while updating news, with a slightly arrogant air of superiority. Here, France was judging the world; teaching Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, about themselves.

In front of my eyes, above me, on that screen, the world was changing. For many months I had been covering the nightmarish riots of the treasonous violent ninjas in Hong Kong. I was all over the Middle East, particularly Lebanon, and now I was on my way to my second home, Latin America, where socialism has kept winning elections, but was getting beaten, even terrorized, by the corrupt and crooked Western empire.

All that France 24 kept showing, I have been habitually witnessing with my own eyes. And more, much more, from many different angles. I have filmed it, written about it, and analyzed it.

In many countries, all over the world, people have been sharing their stories with me. I have seen barricades, photographed and filmed injured bodies, as well as tremendous revolutionary enthusiasm and excitement. I have also witnessed betrayals, treasons, cowardice.

But in the lounge, in front of the television set, everything appeared pretty groovy, very classy, and comforting. The blood looked like a well-mixed color, the barricades like a stage of the latest Broadway musical.

Fed Will Not Disclose Which Banks Are Receiving Repo Cash For At Least Two Years

fed-will-not-disclose-which-banks-are-receiving-repo-cash-for-at-least-two-years

Submitted by Chris Powell of GATA

If you want to know which investment houses have been getting the infamous “repo” loans from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in recent weeks, as GATA has wanted to know, you’ll have to wait two years, according to a letter received from the bank today in response GATA’s request for the information.

The delay, the New York Fed’s letter says, is authorized by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

Perhaps more interestingly, the New York Fed’s letter, signed by Corporate Secretary Shawn Elizabeth Phillips, contends that the bank is exempt from the federal Freedom of Information Act but tries to comply with its spirit.

Such a claim of exemption was not made by the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors during GATA’s FOIA lawsuit against it in 2011, in which GATA sought access to the board’s gold-related documents. GATA technically won the case when U.S. District Judge Ellen Segal Huvelle ruled that one such document was illegally withheld and ordered the board to disclose it to GATA and pay the organization court costs of $2,670:

What kind of system of government is it when every week an entity created by ordinary legislation can create enormous amounts of a nation’s currency and disburse it to unidentified parties without any oversight by the people’s elected representatives, news organizations, and ordinary citizens? It sure doesn’t sound like “the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

Guess Which Government Creates the Most Refugees in the World? – Global Research

guess-which-government-creates-the-most-refugees-in-the-world?-–-global-research

15-07-19 01:46:00,

New statistics released last month by the UNHCR (United Nations High Commission for Refugees) reveal a disturbing trend. The world now has the most refugees ever. At the end of 2018, there were a total of 70.8 million refugees, asylum-seekers and internally displaced people – including 13.6 million newly displaced people in 2018 alone. With all the tension around the topic of immigration in first world nations, you would think that the governments of those countries would be careful not to cause situations which would lead to more migration. You would think that they’d be careful not to enact policies which could potentially cause more refugees, especially if those refugees then look to emigrate to the country making those policies (blowback). But consistency has never been a strong point of US foreign policy.

What the UN Report Didn’t Tell You

The UN Report Global Trends Forced Displacement in 2018 is full of stats, but it doesn’t really tell you the reason for those stats. You can learn about the what but not the why. In the image below, taken from the report, we learn the top 5 nations from which people are fleeing. But why? The UN says it is due to conflict; to put it more bluntly, from war. So who’s initiating these wars?

US Wars and Regime Change Operations Causing Most Refugees Ever

Out of these top 5 nations, the US has invaded and/or occupied 4 of them: Syria, Afghanistan, South Sudan and Somalia. Afghanistan has become infamous for US military waste (it was reported in 2013 that the US Army was to leave $7 billion in equipment behind there), not to mention brutality and ineffectiveness. The Taliban now control more territory than they did in 2011 when the US first invaded. The war in Syria has dragged on for years, becoming something of a stalemate, although at one point Russia helped the Syrian Government by getting rid of a lot of ISIS soldiers (since the US was unwilling to truly take on its own proxy army). All this took – and continues to take – a great toll on the Syrian people,

Which Degrees Will Earn You The Most (And The Least)?

which-degrees-will-earn-you-the-most-and-the-least

03-03-19 09:45:00,

There are a number of considerations to be made when deciding which degree course to pursue. Most people though will at least at some point think about their earning potential once they’ve graduated.

According to gov.uk analysis, in England, the graduates earning the most compared to the average degree five years after graduation are those that studied medicine – coming in at 74.3 percent more for women and 62.7 percent for men. In second place for both genders is economics which on average allows graduates to bring home 54.8 percent (women) and 40.9 percent (men) more.

Which Journalists Work Nowadays for the CIA?

which-journalists-work-nowadays-for-the-cia

30-12-18 06:38:00,

After leaving The Washington Post in 1977, Carl Bernstein spent six months looking at the relationship of the CIA and the press during the Cold War years. His 25,000-word cover story, published in Rolling Stone on October 20, 1977, is reprinted below.

THE CIA AND THE MEDIA
How Americas Most Powerful News Media Worked Hand in Glove with the Central Intelligence Agency and Why the Church Committee Covered It Up
BY CARL BERNSTEIN
In 1953, Joseph Alsop, then one of America’s leading syndicated columnists, went to the Philippines to cover an election. He did not go because he was asked to do so by his syndicate. He did not go because he was asked to do so by the newspapers that printed his column. He went at the request of the CIA.
Alsop is one of more than 400 American journalists who in the past twenty‑five years have secretly carried out assignments for the Central Intelligence Agency, according to documents on file at CIA headquarters. Some of these journalists’ relationships with the Agency were tacit; some were explicit. There was cooperation, accommodation and overlap. Journalists provided a full range of clandestine services—from simple intelligence gathering to serving as go‑betweens with spies in Communist countries. Reporters shared their notebooks with the CIA. Editors shared their staffs. Some of the journalists were Pulitzer Prize winners, distinguished reporters who considered themselves ambassadors without‑portfolio for their country. Most were less exalted: foreign correspondents who found that their association with the Agency helped their work; stringers and freelancers who were as interested in the derring‑do of the spy business as in filing articles; and, the smallest category, full‑time CIA employees masquerading as journalists abroad. In many instances, CIA documents show, journalists were engaged to perform tasks for the CIA with the consent of the managements of America’s leading news organizations.

WORKING PRESS — CIA STYLE
To understand the role of most journalist‑operatives, it is necessary to dismiss some myths about undercover work for American intelligence services. Few American agents are “spies” in the popularly accepted sense of the term. “Spying” — the acquisition of secrets from a foreign government—is almost always done by foreign nationals who have been recruited by the CIA and are under CIA control in their own countries. Thus the primary role of an American working undercover abroad is often to aid in the recruitment and “handling” of foreign nationals who are channels of secret information reaching American intelligence.  » Lees verder

Which Is the Greater Threat? Non-Nuclear Iran or Israeli F-35s and Their Nuclear Weapons of Mass Destruction? | Global Research – Centre for Research on Globalization

Which Is the Greater Threat? Non-Nuclear Iran or Israeli F-35s and Their Nuclear Weapons of Mass Destruction? | Global Research – Centre for Research on Globalization

04-06-18 02:49:00,

Which Is the Greater Threat? Non-Nuclear Iran or Israeli F-35s and Their Nuclear Weapons of Mass Destruction?

EU NATO chiefs are now increasingly concerned about their level of military co-operation with the only nuclear state in the world that is outside both the nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty and the Chemical and Biological Weapons Conventions. (NPT)/ (CWC)/ (BWC).

Whilst non-nuclear Iran is subject to inspection by UN Inspectors from the IAEA, nuclear-armed Israel is completely free to increase its weapons of mass destruction, ad infinitum. That includes nuclear, chemical and biological WMD.

Israeli infiltration into European defence systems is now increasingly seen as a catastrophic error by military chiefs anxious to maintain EU and NATO security in the light of current global political instability and the renewed threat from Russia.

Recent co-operation between the Trump administration and the allegedly corrupt Netanyahu ministry, is of increasing concern to European leaders anxious to maintain international trade and peaceful co-operation with Iran. The Trump-Netanyahu collusion is now less of a political error and increasingly more of a strategic threat to both mainland Europe and Britain.

Whilst Israel’s civilian population has some important centres of excellence particularly in the medical and software sectors, this is insufficient to negate the very real threat to Europe from this aggressive, nuclear-armed, expansionist state with its brutal military and its contempt for both human rights and the will of the United Nations.

“Which Phones sleep together”? Video über Facebooks Geschäftsmodell

“Which Phones sleep together”? Video über Facebooks Geschäftsmodell

09-01-18 05:16:00,

Schau’s dir an. (eigene Übersetzung der Videobeschreibung)
